Why is this film popular?

I realize it might have been hyped given RDJ, Galifianakous, and Phillips coming off of the Hangover, but this film doesn't work at all. Why has it had lasting effect? It's a forgettable (and unfunny) 90 minutes with no originality.

I thought it was just a Planes, Trains and Automobiles re-boot.
And you're right, I watched it a couple of nights ago, and I can't really remember any outstanding storylines.
It was weak, and what was RDJ thinking?!
I thought his character was a bit of a douche, they both were in fact.

Its very funny if you don't take it seriously.

please don't kill yourself, you're obviously deeply depressed.

Yup! It's terrible. I struggled to get through it to be honest.

Yeah, it's rough. It's not Shawshank Redemption or even The Hangover, but for many (obviously not you) it has its moments of absurd hilarity which makes it endearing. Personally, I like (not love) it. I thought the characters played well off of each other. And Zach and Robert are true to their usual style.

I never liked The Hangover movies. But thought this one was pretty funny. i guess to each his own.

I ordered this movie off Netflix and promptly forgot about it until yesterday afternoon when channel surfing I found it. "Oh, I've seen this off Netflix." Why did I order it? I have no idea.

Because it is funny and entertaining and both actors do a good job with their roles.

Glad you liked it.
