From the director of the craptacular 'dark ride'...
wow, it's no wonder ADF moved their *beep* to the graveyard of January.

shareYeah,,trailer looks horrible...
shareI'm excited about this film. It looks awesome, and believeable. Unlike all the stupid movies that could never happen, this one actually could. That's what makes a REAL scary movie. The actors in this are amazing too. Richard Brake, who plays Perkins, played the guy who killed Batman's parents in "Batman Begins", was in "The Black Dahlia", and many other films, and Shayla Beesley just went to Deauville for the premier of the first movie she starred in, "Sex and the USA". This film has some real talent in it and at least one super star on the rise. I can't wait to see it. Johnny Depp came from "Nightmare on Elm Street", and Shayla will be known for her role this movie in coming years in the same manner. She's someone to watch, no doubt.
shareI need to see her other films, but currently I am not agreeing with you.
She stood there and screeched the entire tiem or else was vapid and annoyed. I was waiting for or of the zombie like things to just eat her face, I think I would of been happier with it.
But if I was to base things off seeing this one performance, I say she fell flat. It's not like watching the prequel "star Wars" and watching a great actress like Natalia Portman struggle with a bad script, it was just watching someone do an attempt to act. But she's young and I give her time.
Dark Ride was okay but this movie is absolutely terrible. Incredibly amateurish. I blame the director because it was actually a pretty good story. The acting is the worst out of all the Horrorfest 09 movies.

Oh, I wouldn't agree at all. Actually, it sort of reminds me of Dark Ride. The first third of Dark Ride is actually pretty good--a very knowing, canny horror film that pokes a bit of fun at the genre and provides a few good moments. Then it sort of goes to hell and acts like nobody's ever made a horror movie in an amusement part before.
This movie is good for about the first two thirds, part mystery, part survival horror. The last third--barricade in the building genre--is both really routine and not very sensible.
The ending was too predictable.

Fight the storm.
Where did you see it? Oh wait, you didn't. If you did you'd know 100% of the reviews on this movie put it in the top 1 or 2 of the entire Horrorfest III offerings. Which was YOUR favorite HFIII movie then?
shareThat question is for Shawn, btw.
shareI saw it at Mann Theaters at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. I only saw 6 of the 8 movies (Didn't see Voices or The Broken) and my favorites were Autopsy and From Within. Autopsy was sorta a mean-spirited dreamlike twisted slasher movie that was just a lot of fun to watch. It was gross and silly but REALLY entertaining. and Great acting from the lead girl. From Within drew me in from the beginning.
What reviews are you reading? Anyway, it's just my personal opinion. I thought the quality of Perkins 14 was far below all the others. It most showed its budget and didn't look professional at all. The plot was probably the most intriguing of all the horrorfest entries but I just feel it was done badly. The acting was probably the worst of all the movies too. I didn't care about a single character in this. It could've been so much better but it wasn't. It seemed unfocused and sort of just glossed over the most interesting points of the story. It really fell apart at the end where I was just waiting for it to be over and it felt like a chore to watch. Don't get so offended. Its just a bad movie, IMHO. Did you have something to do with the production?

I read many, many reviews. No, I'm not personally involved in this film. However, I recognize talent when I see it. Since you found "From Within" interesting, perhaps you'd like to see what most all other fans said about it: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/1817/review Or, you can check out this one: http://www.dreadcentral.com/reviews/from-within-2008 Not exactly stellar reviews, eh? The acting in this movie's been panned many times, not just in the articles I provided links to. Now, Autopsy got good reviews, but NOT on the acting portion. lol So, I guess I know you have...unique tastes in movies. If you feel Perkins wasn't that good then the rest of us can safely say it is very, very good. ;)

LadyKroft, youre a damn idiot..Who the hell do you think you are telling someone he didnt see it when he did?? And your idea that if he did see it, he would automatically know 100% of the reviews put it at the top 1 or 2 of the Horrorfest offerings is a laugh. By the way, its not that hard to be at the top of After Darks annual offerings. 90 % of these films are a joke....
Its almost like you are Shayla Beesleys family member or something the way youre going on about this film and her..Nobody will know her name.....ever...
Its kinda ridiculous you are trying to go out of your way to convince me that this is a good film and saying I'm wrong because people on another site thought differently.
I'm sorry but in my opinion...it's still was the least enjoyable movie of Horror fest 3.
I agree with the poster that said there needed to be way more wide shots. The story (which was potentially awesome) was badly handled film making wise. In the hands of a different Director, editor, and screenwriter in some cases this could've been the best.
But I just think movies like Autopsy and From Within or even Dying Breed which may have had weaker stories were much better made. (I still stand by Jessica Lowndes performance in Autopsy as great; I don't care what other people say)
I understand that you don't agree with me and thats ok. So lets just agree to disagree and go about our ways. lol

I'm only one person. How am I here "promoting" after dark??? I happen to love this film, so am I not allowed to voice my opinion because of you now? You are completely illogical and a total control freak as well. You also accused everyone else who liked any of the films of being friends of the producers. I think you're psychotic and dellusional. They should make a movie about you.

Kinda like you bragging about being the smartest chick in special-ed? Or the cutest fat chick?
I would like to go back in time and kill the idiot who created the term "reimagining."
The director should learn to shoot wide and not stick with medium and close ups. It was driving me crazy. The film wasn't the worst but poor shooting use of locations hurts it. Also the frenetic editing style is annoying and overuse of flickering lights when there shouldn't be. Maybe it'll play better on tv. I didn't know it was the same director of Dark Ride till after I saw this and I really hated Dark Ride.
sharelolz love the title" craptacular"..... bt to b honest, this movie is even CRAPPIER... damn is so bad. doesnt even make sense.
