The many scenes with the small, slender, and beautiful Golshifteh Farahani, ridiculous as a super-warrior along with her skinny, fey partner, Adam Bessa , the two of them holding off armies of well-armed baddies, with Farahani never mussing her beautifully coifed hair. On top of that were the scenes where Farahani is a kick-ass martial arts fighter, defeating her attackers with a bad-ass spinning kick or a stiff-arm punch. That alone would be enough to bring this movie down to the cartoon level. But there was much more, with looong, drawn-out scene after scene of Chris Hemsworth defeating multiple attackers from all sides, wave after wave of them, with his magic machine gun, pistol, knife, or whatever else was at hand, such as grabbing a swat team shield and using it as a weapon.

For me, the IMDB score of 7.2 should be turned around to 2.7.

I thought you knew what to expect going in and found it mostly entertaining. Lots of ridiculous action, really dumb plot, think Commando, but it held my interest. It's a 5/10 for me.

Going in, based on the website blurb, I expected an action film, which I enjoy if done right. But I didn't expect one this absurd.

I don't get the issue with her. The first movie showed she had skills and had a couple cool moments in the final battle on the bridge. Extraction 2 got to build on that and show more of what she was capable of. I figured she could fight too, but there wasn't a moment in the first movie to show it off. And I find her believable. Plus size and weight don't mean anything. Also, you seem like one of the few that calls BS on her. Lots of people loved the character.

Size and weight don't mean anything? Have you ever actually been in a fight? Technique counts, but weight classes in combat sports exist for a reason.

Size and weight DEFINITELY matter in a fight, but much Much MUCH more in the ring, than in the real world. People who parrot this (silly) claim have typically never been in a street fight, much less multiple fights, much less a melee/multiple opponents.

It's always hilarious to see people on this site who know a Little about something, and think they know a Lot.

Ring or street, if we're talking one-on-one and unarmed, a significantly smaller person will only win if the smaller person is well-trained and the much larger person is totally untrained (unless something really flukey occurs). Saying that "size and weight don't mean anything" in a fight is so absurd that I have to think he misspoke. But he could just be delusional.

It was also absurd that some 3rd world thugs can shoot up Austrian cops on Austrian soil without an elite commando arriving immediately and blowing them into pieces in seconds.

I agree with this post, but I think you led with the wrong problem. Too many guys complain about a 120 lb woman overpowering a 180 lb mook. But, as you note, it was ridiculous before she appeared in hand-to-hand combat. Suppose we have a 225 lb hero against an 8ft. 360 lb enemy. Well, it's worse than that when you pit your male hero against two 180 lb guys. He's at a size and limb disadvantage, plus his opponents can move independently. It's all fantasy, but it's amazing how many young males will focus their ire on "feminism."

I liked the film but it lost me when it really stretched credulity, and one of those was when she took on two massive, male, trained killers wearing bullet proof armour… and won 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you’re going to have female warriors then consign them to snipers, or give them a good bitch fight. Stop trying to make people believe tiny women can beat up huge men.

I don't disagree. There IS a way to make women fierce warriors, and it's by making them weapons experts. As you say, if they're going to engage in hand-to-hand combat, it should be against other women.

The only exception would be someone like Gina Carano, who has the size and real-world fight skills to be taken seriously. I can believe that there are men in the world that she could beat up.

Yes, a big woman can believably take on smaller guys, but the tiny Iranian woman in Extraction should not be pitted against men in hand-to-hand unless they are very scrawny/old/disabled or dwarves.
