Just couldn't get interested

I was excited when I rented this - it being World Cup time and soccer in the air- but this movie was pretty disappointing, just alot of overdone theatrics about the dreary figures behind English football, not enough actual playing scenes, and Michael Sheen is a cloying actor. Timothy Spall was good as always, but too much of the film was backroom dreary management politics that had me waiting to return it to the Redbox.

I don't know where you pulled "cloying" (sweet) from.....unless you mean "unpleasantly excessive" or "too emotional", i thought that was just "great acting"

I think your missing the point, it was about him rebelling against the "dreary management politics" of football, even these days. like the owner of the club wanting to rest a few players just because his club was getting a bit of publicity, as-a-pose to actually trying to win something and get respect and then publicity that follows in the long run.

I thought it was great for actually showing someone standing up for what he believed in, Football.

on the flip side i suppose he should have changed with the times, but that's why he was the guy he was, and a shame people aren't more like that these days and get these over paid nancy's to play some proper Football

When will people realise we do not own this planet, we are merely the lease holders...
