I know very little about British football but rather enjoyed this (even though I understand it's a fictionalized version of the truth). Decent sports movie, great look at an obsessed coach. Watch it if you want to get in the mood for the World Cup! I sense it's mostly a showcase for Michael Sheen, but I generally don't even care about sports flicks and I found it pretty diverting.

Oh and PS... American sports leagues DEFINITELY could use the relegation/promotion system!! It would make sports like baseball, basketball and football a lot better.

I'm from the UK but not a football fan but still really enjoyed it. I don't think you have to be a fan of the sport really. It's a good story about underdogs rising to the top in a time when the professional sport was fair and not money driven. Good stuff!

im an american and i was raised on soccer, played since i was three years old and have studied and watched the game as long as i can remember (so basically the exact opposite of you in terms of sporting backgrounds), but i loved the movie as well. thought it was great all around, particularly the performances from michael sheen and timothy spall

you mean you done even have a relegation system?? your sports are weird haha

i'm a brit, fotty lover etc. and loved the film, and yep, great performance from most, if not all the cast

The U.S. Tax Code is easier to understand than the NCAA College football ranking/championship/bowl game system is.

One of Brian Clough's sons actually runs a newsagent's shop ten minutes walk from where I live in Nottingham The great man himself was in there one day and was talking to my,then,two year old son! My boy wishes he could remember the occasion!
