Star Wars ended in 1977

On May 4th, in the Northpoint Theatre, San Francisco at about 10:30 pm.

In 1980 with Empire, which was fantastic.

Though it did pop up temporarily with Rogue One, which was great.

Star Wars has died many times. First movie is still the best and only one needed.

It's all been downhill since the Ewoks showed up.

For me, it began and ended with Star Wars. The Ewoks deservedly get a lot of flack but it was the Muppet Movie long before they showed up. Even in Empire, we have Yoda the muppet with Sesame Street Grover's voice.
Star Wars was the perfect movie. Lightning in a bottle. Nowhere to go but down from there.

i haven't heard that argument in many years. people were definitely pinpointing Yoda as where the trouble started after the OT but before the PT. i still think the confusing cave scene on Dagaboh was also a goofy miststep into hocus pocus land. turning the Force into magic instead of mysticism.
