For those who have seen it, did it have this beautiful montage sequence from the original?

Kenji Kawai's music was so haunting. One of the most memorable sequences in any animated film I've seen. I did notice the 2017 version captures some of the set design of the original.

And how kawai is it the original composer's last name is Kawai?

I don't see what is so beautiful about that scene. Yes, the animation is good but I see more beauty in episodes of Voltron 1984, Battle of the Planets and Starblazers.

Well, no, not really. However, there is the scene when the plane flies just above the city, when the camouflage guy run away and watch the city (just before the fight scene in the water).
