Womb in Toronto (TIFF)...

in the Contemporary World Cinema (CWC) programme. There will be three screenings, 14, 15 and 18 Sep. Check here http://tiff.net/filmsandschedules/tiff/2010/womb#. Maybe and some press conference...

I got tickets for the 15th! :) I haven't heard anything about a press conference, though; as far as I know, the director won't be attending - but I could be wrong.

The director was at the screening tonight. Lovely, though-provoking film.

Thought it was amazing. Felt like the film respected peoples intelligence.

I just got back from the first screening, I really liked it. The subject matter (not surprisingly) seemed to be a big turn off for some who hurried out after it was over, but quite a few stayed to chat with the director. I wish Eva Green had been there :(

I just got back from the screening - I am in love with this film. I agree with the previous reviewers - it's a very thought-provoking, respectful film. The director seems fascinating, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of his work.

I'm relieved to read other positive reviews! I was sure people would be too uncomfortable to even say anything (though I'm sure the "how disgusting! how shocking!" reviews will follow eventually). I'm nearly certain that such a film wouldn't be released in the U.S. or Canada, so I can't even describe how happy I am to have seen it.

Completely agree. Just had a very thought-provoking conversation after the film with my boyfriend that lasted more than an hour! Will look forward to more films from this director...

WOMB was picked up at Locarno by Olive Films for North America. Spring 2011 release.

I just saw this post - wow! I had no hope whatsoever for it being released. So happy! I can't wait to see it again.
