Who else found the toy dinosaur burial scene a little upsetting?

It didn't make me cry but I almost felt like it. Just the way it moved made it seem like a living thing, it was quite uncanny and actually I found it one of the hardest scenes to watch.

I found it very upsetting, the toy was so sweet and seemed like a living thing. Not sure what the point was, to show that kids can be cruel, or that boys have to break away fom their mothers when they get older and not be as sweet as the mothers would like? The mum showed him by unearthing it and returning it to him restored without saying anything else that she thought that was not very nice of him, the knowing look she gave him and her simple action. He looked a bit guilty when she did that.

I think we were symbolically shown that by Rebecca unearthing the buried dinosaur she was bringing it 'back to life' as she had done with Tommy.

Yep. The film is full of symbolism.

I agree with that, it was symbolic. It didn't bother me too much because it was just an electronic pet, and if it was so "advanced" or whatever it seems like it should have been more complex. It looks just like "interactive pets" you could get back in the 90s like Furbys. If it was supposed to be "futuristic," it wasn't, very much. But anyway, the scene made me feel uneasy. I think it was more over the fact that the boys were "mean" & buried it, and Tommy was beginning to disconnect from his mom & want to be more independent.

I can't understand your crazy moon language.

Yes, it bothered me too...

i felt the same!

Well "symbolism" or not, I thought it was so sad , even if the little Dinosaur was just a robot.
