Only 7.1??!!!!

I can't understand why this film hasn't got a higher rating than 7.1? The acting from the five guys is amazing, with Simon Pegg's performance being the outstanding one. The fight scenes are well choreographed and refreshingly varied and thoughtful. Most importantly for a comedy, it's outrageously funny. The writing is absolutely genius and it may well be the best written film of the trilogy, with Hot Fuzz being the best film.

It should be rated much higher than 7.1.

Well it certainly doesn't deserve more than a 7.5, so I don't know what you are whining about.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware this is the Internet BOOK Database.

It "certainly" is a solid 8, but I am not really surprised that people don't get it. It is not as funny as the first two (it is not meant or trying to be), but it has other qualities that more than make up for it. The dialogue, the words, the motives, the parallels, the story structure are amazingly and uniquely done. Very impressive actually. And you appreciate the movie even more upon multiple viewings. And the acting is excellent. I just can't get enough of Simon Pegg.

Yep. Certainly an 8 or more. This should (and possibly will be in the future) another Big Lebowski.

I find people's interpretations of IMDb very strange. A 7.1 in general is a very good score. Considering tons of people probably found the robot aspect dumb, or wished it had been a full on sci-fi movie with none of the character-driven stuff, it's an even better score.

Finally, I'd say this is a solid 8, which to me makes it a great film. So tens of thousands of people coming to a conclusion that is .9 lower than that makes total sense to me.

Because a lot of people just don't share your opinion of the movie. I agree with you about the acting and fight scenes, but it just wasn't a very funny or relevant film to me. I like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz much much more.

Its supposed to be a comedy and I hardly laughed, so what can you do..

6/10

I felt this movie was smarter than either Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. The story and the characters were just so much more developed and the comedy wasn't as overt but was more relevant. It's a real movie.

It would seem that these things wouldn't be embraced by all fans of the previous films, so they would rate it lower. And then there are comedy fans who weren't happy about the robot parts and sci-fi fans who weren't happy about the comedy bits.

Personally, I love this movie.

I saw it in a local theater that serves beer, so me and my friends were attempting sort of a stationary golden mile, if you will. We didn't make it, but we had a lot of fun trying. And we had a lot of fun watching this movie.

I've seen the movie several times since then while completely sober and I never seem to tire of watching it.

In time, I've found that taste in movies (music and tv as well) is a great way to quickly learn about people without having to waste a lot of time with them.

For me, the world is pretty much divided into 3 groups: People who love The Cornetto Trilogy. People who haven't seen The Cornetto Trilogy. And people I don't like.

I gave it an 8. I really didn't like Simon Pegg's character to start with and almost gave up on the film after 20 minutes because he was infuriating me so much! But I'm glad I stuck with it. When I got to the end I realised why the beginning had been so "slow". Hot Fuzz is still my favourite of the Cornetto trilogy, but this is a close second.

I didnt watch the other two movies from the trilogy and Im not british and give this one a solid ten. This movie is a master piece!
