I love the depth...

...of those three movies. I just feel like I'm getting so much film for my money. The intricate jokes and running gags, the crazy editing, the dramatic touches, the cast...

Somehow this trilogy is just exactly my cup of tea and it has gotten better with every movie (as much as I love it, SOTD remains my least favourite of the three). Anybody else feel this way?

Yes, the whole trilogy is amazing.

I like how you can watch the movie once, and then watch again to realize that they give away plot points in a very subtle manner.

I think The World's End is my favorite, but I can watch any of the three at any time and enjoy them.

I'm American and not particularly an Anglophile, but Edgar Wright can definitely teach something to these so-called "comedy" directors in America. American Comedy has really suffered in these last few years. There are British directors (like Wright) who really know how to take advantage of the film medium and present some great Visual Comedy.

They are just endlessly rewatchable, aren't they? :) Just writing about it makes me want to go get the DVD...

Edgar Wright really seems to have an amazing grasp over sound and visuals in his pictures... the timing is always perfection!

While not all of it is my bag, you americans have such a broad variety of comedy, there are a lot of gems. I know it's been a couple of years, but I'd say those first three seasons of Arrested Development are the best thing I've ever watched on TV!

I never had any desire to see any of the movies. I remember the commercials for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and thinking they looked like they might be funny, but they also seemed dumb. Recently I read something about how in Shaun one of the main characters sort of gives the whole plot away early in the movie ("First we'll have a bloody mary, then off for a bite at the King's Head, [blah blah blah], then we'll stagger over to the Winchester for shots") and thought 'well that's a clever bit innit?' and decided to watch it. It was MUCH better than I expected, had no idea the writing would be as sharp as it is. Then I watched Hot Fuzz and was even more impressed. ("I'm a criminal! Arrest me! I must be stopped! I'm a slasher! OF PRICES! Catch me later!") I don't even remember hearing about The World's End before, but I watched it last weekend and loved it. Wish I'd known how good these movies were a long time ago.
