Loved the book

So, big hopes for the film (keeping in mind that film adaptations can be disappointing). I really liked the book's depiction of OCD - it's probably the most realistic one I've encountered in any medium. I've heard Jessica Alba talk about having OCD at some stages in her life, so hopefully the production of this will keep that realistic depiction. It's what really made the story unique, above all.

I got the book after I heard America Ferrera was doing the movie and I'm a huge fan of hers. Apparently she's not doing it anyway but I couldn't find out why.

Anyway, I really don't hope they get someone like Jessica Alber to do this role. It's a coplex character and needs a real actor.

America Ferrara was supposed to be doing this movie when it was supposed to be shot months ago, but (as I understand it) she was on a very tight filming schedule, due to the new season of Ugly Betty. The funding for this movie fell through at some point, and when they got everything fixed, she could no longer film it, because of her shooting schedule. Now she is signed on as a producer, I do believe.

What I wouldn't do to Orlando Bloom.

This was THE book for me back in high school. I even gave a copy away to my English teacher. That said, Jessica Alba as Mona Gray? I can't see it... Mona's a quirky, slightly nerdy gal. I think Miranda July would've been perfect (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1508940544/nm0432380) or even Zooey Deschanel. But who knows. Perhaps Alba will blow me away. Going in with low expectations might help.
