So its cute to talk in a theater?

I didn't see the film but the scene in the trailer where Cris Messina is talking in the theater and then throws popcorn at the guy who gets after him pissed me off enough to make me not want to see it. Ever! People who talk at the theater should be sent to burn in a very special level of hell.

Indeed. I broke one dudes arm because he talking in theater and after i tried to tell him to shut up politely he not only got rude but offended my girlfriend as well. Hopefully now when he got his arm broken and bleeding nose he will think twice. The downside is we had to leave and didn't see the movie we came for. :(

It is very rude - unless, it's happens to be a silent movie

I wouldn't count on that person reassessing their future conduct as a result of your actions.
A case in point is Glenn Danzig; he was "taught a lesson" a couple of years back and it didn't modify his behaviour, he's still a complete sap.

In the films it was interesting to see Jessica Alba's character smile at the guy for defending her honour.

It would seem to me that many girls say they prefer their partner not to use physical violence to stick up for them/defend their honour, but the reality is they'll think less of them if they don't in certain circumstances. I think it's preferable to give a verbal beat down, but not everyone possess the gift of the gab, and, unfortunately sometimes you just can't avoid using violence in certain situations.

In this movie it was annoying because a guy smart enough to be a teacher should know better, in the Julia Stiles movie Carolina it was funny. At least nobody whipped out a trumphet like in Uncle Joe Shannon.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was the most original little romantic comedy I've seen for a long time. However, I must agree, the cinema scene was really annoying, and the one where she rang the emergency services and left them hanging for ages then hung up without so much as a sorry. Other than that, though, I must confess I really enjoyed it. :-)

Are you saying that violence is a good substitute for a clever put-down? I have to think that there are more than just two choices in these situations.

I'm here to get entirely off the topic and commend you for making that Firefly reference.

No, it was that dickhead stalker Ben! He deserved to get choked and thrown out and kicked! He doesn't deserve an awesome girl like Mona!
