It made no sense. At the end, when she agrees to "drop the lawsuit" (as male intermediary stated), I was totally perplexed. She never filed a lawsuit. They should have worded it something like "you agree to not pursue a lawsuit". Nevertheless, there were no grounds for her to win a lawsuit. In real life, no elementary school would EVER hire her back. Of course, no school would've hired her in the first place without background, reference, and teaching certificate checks.
If she was so hastily hired, the creepy stalker teacher could've been a criminal if he wasn't vetted either. Also, she would've needed an invasive home study (with waiting periods) in order to legally adopt or foster her student. With her background, problems, and lack of stability she NEVER would have been approved. A single mother is doubly examined too.
Utter BS seemingly written by a young, inexperienced (at life) film student.
Stupid movie on so many levels.
