Cute...but unrealistic..

This is a cute concept, but there is no way a school (no matter how small or how remote) would hire someone who simply loves math to be their new math teacher.

Elementary school teachers typically:
Acquire a Bachelor of Arts in Education,
Must pass a PRAXIS I Exam,
Take a bunch of teaching classes (which focus on child development),
Pass PRAXIS II Exam successfully,
Complete their student teaching
And receive their Teaching License.

Yes, it was very unrealistic on so many levels. You also can't adopt or foster a child on a quick whim. You must endure a lengthy, invasive home study that she would have failed at this point in her life.

I didn't find the movie cute...I thought it was rather creepy! An OCD woman-child in pigtails that can't handle life and interpersonal communications is practically forced into a job with children, while having no solid qualifications or proven track record.

The axe was a stupid...a plot contrivance. Creeeeeeeepy film.
