PERCY FAWCETT PBS Documentary- Lost in the Amazon

A new production is underway- filmed in Brazil's Mato Grosso and Amazon about the Percy Fawcett enigma. Created by award-winning director/producer Peter von Puttkamer who previously went on Amazon expeditions to find Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World (The Real Lost World- Discovery/Animal Planet, 2006) and in the footsteps of pioneering plant explorer Richard E. Schultes ("Peyote to LSD: A Psychedelic Odyssey", History Channel, 2008).

Also shot in Wales, Devon and London England, the Lost in the Amazon documentary follows modern day explorer Niall McCann as he tracks down new clues and evidence as to Fawcett's ultimate fate in the jungle. The production company had unprecedented access to Fawcett family diaries, logs, maps and previously secret information. Premiering April 20, 2011 on PBS "Secrets of the Dead" series.
