I can't understand why. It's an entertaining movie and Cumberbach nails the role as Stephen Strange. From the buzz surrounding the last MCU movie, most say that Doctor Strange is far better than Captain Marvel. I haven't seen Captain Marvel but I've seen Doctor Strange at least 3 times and enjoyed it greatly. It's not a top tier MCU movie but I'd place it firmly in the upper middle of the those movies. It's far better than the first or second Thor, Iron Man 2 and 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers 2.
I guess at the end of the day, it all depends what you want from an MCU origin story movie.
