Voice dubbed?

In the first part, they're sitting in a room with all the scouts discussing who they can get. There's one guy talking, and i KNOW it's John Goodman's voice. Positive. I keep looking up, there's no John Goodman, and the guy with the voice, you can tell the words aren't quite matching with his lip movements. I don't know the character's name, but I'm fairly positive, for some reason during post, they got John Goodman to dub this guys lines. Or, I could be wrong.

Further on in the movie, he's in another scene, the actor is Ken Medlock playing Grady. Again, the lip sync is off, and it's Goodman's voice. Nowhere else in the film am I seeing the lip sync off kilter.

Or, okay, maybe this guy just sounds EXACTLY like John Goodman. I can't find a video of him in anything else to compare.

Why would John Goodman do uncredited voice dubbing?

Expiration dates are mere suggestions! Like late fees and traffic lights.

reply

I dunno. But I think that kind of thing goes on all the time. Like when Glenn Close dubbed Andie MacDowell's voice for the entire movie "Greystoke", it was uncredited.

reply

I honestly don't think it is dubbed. I can hear the resemblance to John Goodman, but it's not quite right.

reply

Sounds a bit like John Goodman but its not him.
