The way the A's owner acted was annoying & somewhat unbelievable.

Every scene this guy was in (which was only a couple) he acted annoyed anytime Billy explained what he was trying to do with the team.

A baseball team is a HUGE investment no matter what size market it is in.

The owner would have been more "hands on" and involved with ANYTHING to do with his baseball team rather than acting like transactions regarding the A's were some kind of distraction.

*You* would be more active in day to day activities, particularly if you knew the game well.

George Steinbrenner was, even though he had no clue how to run the team.

The best thing an owner can do is to hire a GM who knows the game and trust him to build and run the team with the resources on hand. Just because a team has an owner doesn't mean they know anything about balancing payroll with talent.

An owner needs to stay out of day to day activities, thats why you have a GM and a Manager. Jerry Jones is a perfect example of an owner killing a team by meddling in day to day operations and player transactions. Hire people to do that job
