Beyonce acting is laughable.

I get some people can transitio into a new career and all but there are some celebs who can't do both. I.E, Beyonce.
First of all, she's over rated in the music industry.
I am stumped on how she has been able to "rise to the top" after so many years. Don't get me wrong, some of her songs are great but again, I just don't get it.
Anyway, this movie is okay. I like it when I viewed it when it came out and I have the dvd actually. I just believe that her acting skills are the skills that BARELY get by. The first film she was in was the Austin Powers, Goldmember, right? Well, I enjoyed her in that because her character was a singer/entertainer. See the difference in parts?
This is just my opinion. Don't attack me beehives. But face it, another female would have played the part a whole lot better.

I think to be frank her accent didn't help. She used her native speaking voice, which is fine and all for her real-life music, image, being a rapper's wife and all that, but it doesn't really lend itself to playing a rich business guy's wife .

Regina Hall or Gabrielle Union would have been better choices. Hell there's a long list of better black actresses they could have chosen over Beyonce.

Oh absolutely. I don't know for sure but I'd guess this movie was made specifically for Beyonce to play that role. Otherwise I can't see any reason why a casting director would choose her over more qualified choices.

They couldn't have ALL been busy ha.

You are so right, and I think Beyoncé's team actually pays to have her in movies, because she is not at all convincing as an actress. Mrs. Carter should stick to music and stop taking away jobs from actual qualified actresses.

She was nominated for a Razzie award for Worst Leading Actress. It's easy to see why. She was not convincing at being a wife and was such a bitch. Her acting from learning this woman is temping for Derek to her acting at the hospital and throwing Derek at the house was so ridiculously annoying. She wasn't convincing either in that catfight with Lisa at the end.

Beyoncé has been apart of some huge film productions. Dreamgirls, The Lion King, Cadillac Records, and list goes on. Some even have been Oscar and Emmy nominated. But the resounding message with regard to her acting is that Beyoncé simply can’t act. Today I want analyze Beyoncé’s acting film by film & see if there’s any truth to that position.
