What was the significance of letting the airport scene at the end?

What was the significance of letting go of the suitcase at the end in front of the board with all the destinations? At first I thought he was having a meltdown and going off traveling with no luggage, but maybe it meant he was abandoning the traveling life and was deciding where to start a home...

I don't think so about starting a home.
Because he says "when you see the light, from your home, that's my wingtip."

The letting go of the bag, was like HIS backpack, of the job, I think his resolution was just going wherever he picked on the board, which was Natalie's suggestion.

But like many good movies, left open for you to imagine.

In the ten million club he now has free access to flights, lounges etc. I saw the letting go of the suitcase as a previous responder did, him letting go of his "backpack" and submerging completely into airline travel. Once he was rejected by his "love" he had given up on ever "settling" , when the pilot asked where he was from, ne answers "here", meaning "up in the air". That finally becomes his "home", he has finally "settled, up in the air".

Good answer. If you notice and listen to the end of the song at the end of the movie, that was the point of the movie.
