Saddest part was Young M.C. playing that corporate function

The guy hadn't written anything of importance since "Bust A Move" in 1989, and here he was shilling to a bunch of white corporate goofballs. Lesson in career management.

Some musicians will, providing if companies are willing to pay the right amount of money

Good cash in it - I've seen loads of recording artists and comedians I didn't expect at corporate do's - even George Martin in Berlin (the Beatles producer, not the other one!)....

I've seen James Taylor, Don Henley, Lenny Kravitz and One Republic at corporate events. They get paid very well for one night's work.

Don't ever criticize someone for working.

At least the guy who "hadn't written anything of importance since 1989" is still making money off corporate goofballs. ?

Seems like that's normal procedure for an aging star, making a living from appearances and autograph sessions.

But if you insist on finding something "sad" about that, it could tie in with the movie's theme about growing old and past one's prime, appearing in smaller venues. Not that anything's wrong with that!

The saddest thing is him still being referred to as "Young" MC when he ain't looking much like a spring chicken anymore.
