how disturbing is it?

I wanna see it but I've been told this movie is very disturbing. I will be avoiding Irreversible because I know about the rape scene and that's something I honestly don't want to watch. But I watched LOVE last night and I absolutely loved it. So I wanted to know how bad this movie gets. Thanks.

Honestly aside from the rape scene, which you could just FFW through, it isn't to terribly disturbing. There's two scenes in particular in the beginning but after that it's mostly just a talky film.

Enter the Void now that's sort of hard to label as disturbing. It's more cerebral than anything. Maybe if you're disturbed by graphic sex? Other than that it is an incredibly well made and beautiful movie.

Still have yet to see Love but I sort of know what to expect.

Thanks for your reply. I ended up watching Enter The Void and I didn't find it very disturbing. I thought it'd be more like Requiem for a dream. I really enjoyed it, I thought it was a very interesting visual journey. I wish it had been shorter though. The first our of the film was magnificent and I was really hooked. But after that point nothing much happens and I sort of lost interest in the story. I think he could've done the same movie in an hour and a half. I know the film is supposed to be the main character's trip (or that's one way to interpret it) but after a while it just didn't work for me anymore and it was just a visual trip.

I'm gonna try to watch Irreversible and fast forward that scene like you said.

I found it unsettling throughout, but only the car crash really disturbed me, just seems too realistic and the audience is led to become emotionally involved with the family so it hits really hard, if you forgive the pun.

Despite it being unsettling to me, I found it very watchable because it was beautiful to look at and had some real emotional depth and robust narrative.
