Probably the deepest movie I've ever seen.

Pretty much every bit of imagery and dialogue in this movie has some extended viewpoint on something happening in the film. Things that are mentioned about other characters can happen an hour or two into the movie but it's so subtle you almost miss it. I have watched Enter the Void about 4 times now and every time I walk away from it with a lifted(?) sensation. Like a weight has removed from my shoulders. It really drags you through it but it makes the ending all the more meaningful. Like being reborn.

I completely agree. There are probably deeper films, but Noe takes his time with it, let's you gradually absorb the story. Everything is explained really well, all the characters have understandable motivations, the two main characters for example show a lot of traits and actions that you can link back to the crash. The filmmakers clearly put a lot of preparatory work into this, enough even to let the actors improvise around their characters. It has interesting multiple themes like love, Buddhist rebirth, making and keeping promises, drugs and escape, light and circles, revenge and guilt. People complain that it's too long, but I don't think it would have been any better to be shorter or faster.
