My friends keeps saying I must watch this

I don't care about the genre and actively avoid watching superhero stuff, and I watch this.

This is different. The tone is darker and more satirical. It's about superheroes but it is really also not about superheroes.

The superheroes are the bad guys in this. This is not a black and white morality tale like most superhero movies/tv shows and it is definitely aimed more at adults.

I can happily watch this (I watched three hours yesterday, and I watched Gen V too) and I generally do not care about or watch superhero shit.

I actively hate superhero movies but for some reason felt this might be ok and watched the first 3 series , and enjoyed them.
I guess its the unusual position of even the "good guy" superheroes are bad guys that our (human)heroes are battling against.

Its not for everyone though , the language is appalling and the gore is gratuitously cartoon level ,
If that doesent bother you it might be worth i go.

Your friend must be dumb to not be able to explain why you'd like it and you have to ask strangers in the Internet why.

Just watch an episode, if you don't like it, don't watch it? Is it really that complicated. Also, how does one actively not watch superhero stuff? Do you like see a superhero movie on and actively change the channel?

I'm not a fan of "super hero movies," though by that I'm going to assume you're mostly referring to all of the Marvel crap.

But, I'm a huge fan of The Boys. It's basically an anti-superhero series where, without saying anything too specific, it mocks and inverts the tropes of the super hero genre in humorous and ironic ways. It's also got some great characters and mostly on point writing.

Warning though: you're going to see a lot of dicks.
