Review From A Native American

I'm Native American (I'm not Cherokee either like a lot of people claim when they say they are Native American since Cherokee supposedly equals the badass/tough/fierce Native Americans, I'm mostly Chippewa) and I have to say, the movie was complete trash/a waste of time and a snooze fest. The reviews were full of crap and just positive to get bonus points or avoid being called racist or sexist since the main character is a female Native American. The movie was only like 90 minutes without end credits, but it felt like it was double that. Felt longer than The Batman (I love that movie, by the way). Predator 1 and 2 were WAY better. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover were better main characters than the main girl in Prey. So best Predator movie or best Predator sequel (well, prequel since it's a prequel)? NO WAY/absolutely not. I'm not that big of a Predator fan, but I would rather watch/re-watch Predator 1 and/or Predator 2 instead. They had better main characters, better action, better final showdowns/fights, and better pacing. Plus you got all of Arnold's one-liners in Predator 1. But about 10-15 minutes into Prey, I wanted to stop the movie and watch Predator 1 or 2 instead. So yeah. If you are wondering what Native Americans think of the movie, this Native American didn't like it and will never watch it again or recommend it to anyone. I'd recommend Predator 1 and/or 2 instead. I don't need representation either. All I care about/want in a movie (or TV show or even a book or video game) is likable/well written characters and a good story/plot.

Indeed, Predator and Predator 2 are the best and the rest are inferior garbage.

Yes this^^^^^^^^^

I wonder when the studios are gonna figure that out?

Predator 2 had those things but this film didn't? This film had the most character development of any of the Predator films. The main character is a female Native American? So what? She's the best character in the franchise after Dutch who she has nothing in common with as Dutch is basically pure muscleman masculinity circa 1987.

"Plus you got all of Arnold's one-liners in Predator 1."

It's almost like this movie (unlike Predator 2) isn't trying to rip-off a lot of what people liked about the first film and actually bring something fresh to the franchise? If you want Predator 1 again then just watch Predator 1? I'm taking my nostalgia goggles off though and enjoying this new take on this franchise that brought something different to the table and was well directed, acted, action packed and thrilling.
