Not what I was expecting
I wanted to see an entertaining sci-fi movie. Not a effing political statement. I can turn on the news and get an earful of that mess. Moving on the find good entertainment elsewhere.

shareWhy can't it be both? It was still an entertaining sci-fi movie... just because you don't have conscience about the politcal climate of the world doesn't mean it wasn't good entertainment.
shareI'm very aware of the political climate. How rude and inconsiderate of you to assume I'm not. I wasn't expecting that type of theme in this movie, and I didn't care for it.
shareLOL. Yes, because science fiction so rarely makes a political statement. ha ha
shareI don't think it was as political as you think, but I can see why some people would interpret it that way. District 9 is WAY more political. This movie needed an antagonist with far reaching and overwhelming and expensive capabilities, so it's usually the government or some type of organized crime in these type of David vs Goliath movies. In this instance, it was the government. They showed how ruthless the AI could be, even torturing people, so it wasn't completely one sided in its depiction of cruelty either.
