Has anyone Read the book?
I just finished the book 'Cracks' and really liked it. I wonder how similar it will be. I can see that many of the names have changed.
Has anyone here read it?

I did last summer. The place and the time are also different in the movie. I am anxious to see Eva's perfromance as Miss G. In the book Miss G seems very intriguing and challenging character. While reading the book I had Eva's face on my mind for Miss G.
shareI was really shocked with the ending. I mean I knew something like that was coming, but wow. I found it rather shocking. I wounder how that will play out on screen....
sharei read it last week, but i didn't realise it was getting made into a film until today. funny, i really didn't see miss g as someone as beautiful as eva green. i actually found her character really unlikable, so i'm sort of happy that they have cast eva as she will be easier to like on screen (i hope).
i wonder how the relationship between her and fammia will be portrayed... if they will go into more detail in the film than they did in the novel?
it was a strangely alluring read, but i actually think it will make a better film than book. parts of the book felt really awkward. hopefully the actors can pull it off! :)
does anyone know the title or writer of the book? I have checked the local bookshop and library but can't find it..
thanx in advance
I got a little buzz going...and I like you .so there's that .I guess I have that . - Garden State
The book is "Cracks" by Sheila Kohler (South Africa)
PS Original source of this information: cindermama, a few threads back...
I read it and (maybe an old) version of the screenplay...the screenplay I read was very accurate to the book. At the time, I had a friend who worked in the industry. I am not sure if they scrapped that version completely or just changed it.
shareI want to read this book but it isn't in my local libraries system so it could take them weeks to find it and weeks to get it.
I just finished it today. I wasn't sure if I liked the character of Fiamma, but by the end I felt a lot of sympathy for her. All in all I loved it, one of my favorite books.

What i didn't like about this book that they didn't get into depth with the characters. you never knew how they felt, thought etc..
so you couldn't really get any sympathy for any character in the book

how'd you like to love me forever
I didn't like that either at first, but upon re-reading it I saw a strategy. Maybe I'm taking my AP lessons too much to heart, but I think that's all part of it. The girls were so apart of their clique that they couldn't differentiate themselves from each other, couldn't get back to life "before" joining Miss G's team.
I'm also more wary of their perception of Fiamma-it's possible that she was played out to be a "snot" because the girls disliked her so much.
