why did they all throw their sashes at Miss G's feet? was it symbolic of blood?

So no, I don't think it was supposed to be symbolic. Just a straight-forward f-ck you to Miss G.

ohh I didn't realise they were diving sashes that made them stand out from the rest of the school, I just thought that all students wore them. Shows how perceptive I am :)
