School or prison?

I wondered if this place was really a school or something like prison? In one scene one of the girls says that they will never leave this place, although the doors were allways open and girls could leave it any time. And why Mrs. G stayed there for so long ?

School, prison restrict someone free will, and school prevent someone to have free will, school indoctrinated person to be perfect, like Di says "It stupid ban book tell you about 'true of file.' We can 'stay pure' forever."

Lets talk about 2 previous movie of Imogen Poots (Di lackey, the one with mesmerizing eyes :)

In V for Vendetta, Imogen school is a prison, she is homosexual and judged wrong, it is school for girls, similar to catholic school in Cracks.

In Miss Austen Regret, her life seems to be school, the story telling that woman future no more than matrimony, be a good wife and stay at home, and she agreed with that in happy ending.

So look at the character background, for Fiamma, the school is a prison, because she departed from Spain after loving a peasant, noticed by Miss G. from letter in administration room.
