Well... (spoilers)

A situation like this could happen with anyone. Unilateral, platonic or requited.
It is a beautifully filmed story. However, I don't like the idea that suggests Miss G's lesbianism makes her a monster. Who does anything to not be "found out".
It seemed something bad, degenerating.
I understand it was set in a time when LGBT were generally considered sick, but I was hoping it would have a different outcome.

Am I alone in this?

I get your point but if Miss G could live freely and worriless as a lesbian, I doubt such things would happen. Remember, homosexuality was seen as a mental disease then.

Although it's not that she can't be open with her sexuality, it's that she forces herself on a student. Student/teacher relationships has always been taboo, and still are.

It's her choices that makes her the "villain". I can also see reasons for her being the way she is, mostly based on her not being able to leave the school, explore the world like she wants to. She has to be content being a big fish in a small pond, and when that seems to be taken away from her she freaks out.

But she still has a choice. To molest an unconcious girl who's clearly showed that she's not interested can't be excused. And no matter what other people has said on this board - what happened that night was most probably rape. We'd never excuse a man for doing this - but we wouldn't blame his heterosexuality either.
