Just watched this...

I plan on reading the novel, but the movie itself...So much more potential, but it was well done.

The asthmatic breathing was driving me nuts though - meaning I was cringing, and I was in near tears during the ending...

What a cruel and twisted woman Ms G is - who I had a feeling upon first sight, that it was all an image. How sad that all Fiamma wanted was to go home (couldn't really tell what the scandal was as to why she was sent away, so maybe the rumors are true?) and then finally when everything is going great - she's taken advantage of, trying to set things right and defend herself...and she dies...


And Ms G gets to hole herself away, and those poor girls (I don't totally blame them, though they themselves knew what they did to Fiamma was wrong) were manipulated.


A very depressing tale, but still strangely beautiful...
