Oscar for Eva?

The role seems oscar worthy.Seems.

reply

Possibly, sounds a bit like the The Cider Huose Rules.

Anything with Eva Green is Oscar worthy in my book.

I LOVE EVA IN ALL HER ROLES SHE REALLY IS BRILLIANT I JUST HOPE GETS CREDITED FOR ALL HER HARD WORK

reply

Do you think that her role in Cracks is so favourable for academy award? I love to see her even as nominee...

reply

Well, it won't even be released in Europe until October. If it makes it to the US soon after that and her performance gets loads of critical praise it could receive a nomination. i think she stands a better chance with "Womb", though.

I don't know if Cracks is an Oscar project (I cross fingers for this...) but it is for sure the first leading role for Eva. But I can hardly find news about it almost a year after the shooting...

Just saw the film today at TIFF & I would absolutely applaud Eva Green getting the Oscar for it. Her performance was wonderful! The entire cast were excellent. Really great film.

PS- Eva Green really is that arrestingly beautiful in real life!

Yes, she was at the premiere, along with the director, Jordan Scott(and her father Ridley Scott), as well as Juno Temple (who plays Di) and Maria Valverde (who plays Fiamma). It was so much fun to see them all there & hear the Q&A with the director!

reply

she was amazing in it, i can definitely see her getting nominated for an oscar. was very controversial which the oscar comity loves

reply

Well I liked the film, and I think Green is good, but not that good. It depends what she's up against- if it's a slack year then she could well be up there, but I'm not convinced she's quite up to carrying a whole film quite yet. There were several moments in Cracks where her acting was quite, usually the bits without dialogue. Rather, her attempt at physically representing Miss G.s psycholgical/emotional breakdown are a bit too obvious. That said, I don't think it derails the film at all, it was still a very affecting performance and there's a very good chance she'll get a nod at the BAFTAs (British Academy awards) cos they love her.

reply

If she would be nominated would it be at this years oscars, or the next? The film wasn't released in the U.S yet, I think. Anyways, I haven't seen it yet, but her acting looked great just from the trailer! I think she is wonderful and if there won't be a nomination for this project I'm sure there will be one for another.

I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you....stranger

reply

I think it will be considered probably for the next year as a 2010 movie

reply

i don't think this will be an oscar for her. Its not because of her acting but because of the movie.

She's good in this but this isn't a film to win her a oscar plus the younger actress's have more chance of a oscar nod then Eva.

reply

So... Is it too late now to give her an Oscar? :D Seriously, she really deserved one, or at least some recognition, at any award, can't believe she got nothing, not even a single one... so unfair! I mean, come on! Her performance and therefore, her character, was so credible, so vivid that I, in particular, believed everything about it. She just nailed it! and that's the whole point, right?

Carpe the hell out of the diem
