Heres the Problem...

This plot was supremely disappointing. Some time I will have to watch the original to see if it had the same plot. If it does, & the original did just as a poor job, I guess I should criticize them too. I think it would have been better w/o the twist @ the end, that was really the worst part. & the movie as a whole was below Douglas.

BASIC INSTINCT Thats a movie!! A Perfect Murder Thats a movie!! DISCLOSURE w/ Demi Moore What a FLIC!!! M. Douglas RULES the erotic thriller genre. WALL STREET (not erotic), FATAL ATTRACTION !!!! I could go on for days. All these movies didn't have outrageous budgets, and Special Effects. Douglas carried them with his acting. If this was anyones first time watching Douglas 4get this movie and watch Disclosure or ANY of the movies I mentioned. Please!! Douglas is so much better than this.

Even Zeta Jones must have been like, "Why uh...why uh did you do this movie honey?"

All of those films you mention had massive budgets for the time. And to say Michael Douglas 'carried' Wall Street (or, indeed, any of the other films) is ridiculous.

I also thought this movie was surprisingly decent. It's nowhere near as good as the original (which does have essentially the same plot) but it's still a lot better than most Hollywood remakes. Not that that's saying much.

Cinemaster69, since you've seen the original, maybe you can answer this question for me: did the original have the same ending, or was this an addition to the remake (trying not to give anything away!)?

Just go to the Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (1956) page on IMDB and go to the Plot Summary or scroll down the the message boards. That will give you more info on the ending.

@ Cinemaster69 I strongly disagree. I'm not a big Michael Douglas fan but his performance in Wall Street was the main reason that movie became a huge hit. He won a Oscar for it. I agree he hadn't done anything before that was impressive as far as acting goes.

What's ridiculous is this current version of Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. There are enough plot holes in it to drive a truck through it. Michael Douglas role in it is minor and he's not on screen that much. Anyone could have been casted in that role. But this whole movie was unbelievable IMO, especially towards the end.
