A Pulitzer Prize? For Television News?

Come on! Pulitzer's are for newspapers, NOT television! They said that three times during this movie.

Also, Shreveport (market #82) is a much smaller tv market than Buffalo (market #50). And that newsroom looked busier than the New York Times!

Don't they have someone to check the facts!

Maybe it was supposed to be a clue that he 1) wasn't as sharp as he thought he was and 2) wanted to leave Buffalo in a hurry for any job he could get.

As for how busy the news room was, if they had made it empty and quiet, someone else would have accused them of trying to "get by on the cheap by not hring enough extras", or some such.
