the pants are the only unexplained piece of evidence (and sneakers)

were the pants presented in court the first pair of pants (with real blood spatter) or the second pair of paints (with evidence planted by the DA)?
when ella looked at the pants in the evidence room the tag was ripped out- does that mean that michael douglas ripped it out so there would be no evidence that would indicate the pants had no blood and he in fact planted it OR did cj rip the tag out so there would be no evidence or trace to when the pants were purchased.

for me- the pants are the only unanswered question...

that and did CJ buy the sneakers from himself? seems odd that such a rare pair of sneakers would be so readily available on "ebay"

The sweat pants on exhibit were the pair that CJ purchased and planted in his room with the other material evidence. It was said that the DA questioned the sporting goods store clerk prior to the girlfriend coming in and asking the same questions, so it was the DA that went back and ripped out the tag. CJ wouldn't have done that because he wanted all the items to be traced back to his video and paper receipt evidence. CJ was probably aware of the sneakers auction and likely had it on his watch list before going through with the murder.
