The Pulitzer?

A TV reporter stupid enough to chase a Pulitzer, for which TV news is ineligible, seems a rather vapid character. I'm looking forward to seeing what know doubt will be the better film, the 1959 version with Dana Andrews. Hyams could have googled the Pulitzer and discovered that fundamental error in 5 minutes, assuming he really wrote the script.

Maybe he's supposed to be a bit vapid and stupid.

From where do you get the idea that TV news is not eligible for a Pulitzer? There are six reporting categories and the investigation and conviction of a DA would certainly qualify as investigative reporting.

Other awards are for Breaking News Reporting, Explanatory Reporting, Local Reporting, National Reporting and International Reporting.

Any reporter, TV or press, would have his/her career made with a Pulitzer win. You think such a character would be vapid?

You could have googled the Pulitzer and discovered that fundamental error in five seconds, never mind five minutes.

Hyams wrote the screenplay, but the film is a remake of the 1956 noir. Not too good with details are you, Dick?
