who knew... (spoilers)

Who knew the twist before it happened? How early did you know it? Typically I am a sucker for twist endings and I can get so lost in a good story that I wouldn't expect a twist ending even if I knew M. Night Shamalamalama directed it. But this one had enough bad writing and and poor acting that the twist rose to the top like smelted iron from the ore. I suspected it when he gave his excuse for limping at 4 in the morning. The writing and acting just made it seem unnatural. It was secured for me though when the dog bite appeared to happen before his friend could come in the with the camera. To paraphrase, "Stupid dog, it bit me before I had time to set up the picture!" Over-explain much?

Oh the dog never bit him, didn't think of that. I didn't see the twist coming.

I thought the knife he brought from the shop was going to turn out to be the murder weapon
I am now a checkerboard chick!

Funny, I saw the twist coming but for other reasons.
The combination of the suspicious phone calls plus the Buffalo video zooming on the hand with the star tattoos on her fingers. Then blackmail fit perfectly with the calls.

Very early. When CJ first described his plan to nail the DA to his friend, I figured it because I remembered this plot from the Dana Andrews' movie of the 1950s (of which I couldn't remember the title). I realized this was a remake of that as the movie was going along. I didn't realize until I came here to check that this movie used the same title as the earlier film.

I figured it for two reasons :

1) the award-winning video C.J. made years earlier (with the prostitute and her dead baby) was so ridiculously bad that it couldn't be true. When C.J. narrates the video, he's being so fake that I had my doubts. When Amber Tamblyn watches the video and cries, I just had to laugh because of how unconvincing this tearjerker of a video was.

2) the whole film would really not be that interesting without that twist ending, would it? We know soon enough that Michael Douglas does indeed tamper with the evidence. So it would just be a matter of "when is he going to get caught?"... The scene where Douglas is caught and taken in prison is so short and seen only on a news-bulletin. Douglas doesn't even have a last line of dialogue...

It was SO obvious!

I got it when he was limping and was called out to look at the murder.
But i was 100% sure when he sais the dog bit him before they could tape it.
