PETA urges Joe Exotic scripted series starring Kate McKinnon to use CGI cats

“We haven’t been able to confirm their production plans, which is why we’re keeping the pressure on,” the animal rights organization told TheWrap on Friday, following the buzzworthy success of Netflix's Tiger King, the doucumentary on big-cat breeder Joe Exotic. “Our hope is no real big cats or other animals will be used.” The untitled Joe Exotic series is currently in the works for Universal Content Productions and has no network attached.

These TV productions don't have the budget for reasonable looking CGI cats and even the big cinema releases have questionable CGI. Unless you have The Lion King remake's type of budget, you need to use real animals.

That tiger had 2 minutes of screen time and looked a lot like a cartoon in the well lit scenes and I bet that cost them a fortune. This series needs many tigers during the day.
