I've seen every Ryan Gosling flick except this one and I'm really curious about it. I've been a Gosling fan since I saw The Believer back in 2001.
Is this a good flick or does it kind of suck? Also, how is Ryan's performance?
There's a hundred-thousand streets in this city. You don't need to know the route. You give me a time and a place, I give you a five minute window. Anything happens in that five minutes and I'm yours. No matter what. Anything happens a minute either side of that and you're on your own. - Drive
To me it's better than the highly overrated "Blue Valentine".If this film wasn't highly publicised it's because in that year we had the aggressive campaign by Wainstein Company on BV.It's one of the best films of 2010.Ryan Gosling was just perfect and should have been nominated for his outstanding job.I particulary found amazing how he expressed the increasing trasformation/alienation of his character. It's a very polished performance.the entire cast gives great performances as well. The film is moving and shocking at the same time. And the director is truly qualified. You should watch it.
This film is very good, not Gosling's best, though. That being said, he is a major star, and a very fine actor. He says more through his eyes and with minimal movement than most actors say with 3 pages of dialogue. This movie is a good example of that. So are The Notebook and Lars and the Single Girl. And if its range you want, see Crazy, Stupid Love.
What I have not seen yet, though, is Drive, and I hope he doesn't go the action hero route. He's too good for that, in my opinion.
this was my new favourite of his based on acting. he was so good, i couldnt see ryan in the sam e was again, so creepy, i havent watched this movie again, not because it's not good, but cuase it's too good, i get so freaked out by it.
