I am really confused where the blood soaked bandana came from and what it meant. I rewound and couldnt find anything. PLEASE WHAT DID I MISS

It was from the dog. Meaning that David killed the dog.

Earlier in the movie SHE had put her blue bandana on the doggie. So when she found the blood soaked bandana, she knew he'd killed the dog.
