He didn't "make" her do sh!t. She made the decision herself.
Plus, this man was 100% protected against divorce or anything of the sort. She would not have had any of his assets to take care of the kid and as far as the film showed, she was pretty much a freeloader and could not support herself in the slightest (she was still in college).
And I agree with the poster above me: he made it more than clear enough that he didn't want kids because there was something wrong with him. If she took that to mean he was sterile, that's on her for drawing conclusions prematurely.
I did feel a lot of sympathy for the woman throughout the movie, but they both shared an equal amount of blame on that one.
