was the district attorney corrupt?

The DA met with Davids brother in a restaurant and then we heard nothing else from her. Is the implication she was bought off by the Marks family.
What happened to her in real life?

This article discusses her in a lot of detail: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/mar/29/robert-durst-jeanine-pirro-california-timeline-the-jinx

Personally I think it is unfair to blame her for the fact that Durst has never been charged.

The police and DAs who were in charge at the time of the disappearance should be the ones getting most of the flak, not Pirro.

I'm sure she's not perfect and it's a flaw in the system that those who might come down hard on the ultra rich are unlikely to get into office in the first place given the dependence on campaign contributions.

However, by 2000, there was simply insufficient evidence to refute Durst's assertion that he was at their home by the lake when his wife disappeared from their city apartment.

Perhaps the evidence that she had been in the city could have been pulled apart if it had been properly scrutinised at the time. But it is not Pirro's fault that this was not done.

If she was murdered, then perhaps evidence of death or dismemberment could have been found at the house. But it is not Pirro's fault that this was not done at the time

a meeting she had with Durst’s brother Douglas, the head of the family real-estate empire, in 2004, after which her office’s remaining official interest in the case evaporated.

Looks like corruption indeed.
