Does anyone else agree?

..and I'm sorry if this point was brought up before, but the moment where Jenny and Danny dance at the club after the dog race, I feel their connection more than I do David and Jenny the entire film.. prompting Davids swift proposal after that.

Just a thought, and what I feel in watching those scenes...

reply

They do seem to "connect" during that dance

reply

Well yeah the whole scene was about that, that's why he freaked out and proposed

reply

Yes, I thought Jenny and Danny had a def. connection. And I think David realized this and it made him insecure, and possibly Helen realized it too.

reply

Danny was much cuter and more charismatic than boring old pervy David. I think they could have made the movie about Danny and Jenny, and this corrupt old couple Helen and David who led them astray. Would've worked for me.

... except that the film is based upon original source material...

I think part of what motivated David to make the proposal right then and there was that he recognized that his slimeball friend was taking an interest in Jenny. And that's completely rational.

reply

Yeah. I thought so too. They had more sexual chemistry than Jenny and David did the whole movie. Jenny and David had chemistry but it was young girl/older man creepy sort of chemistry whereas Jenny and Danny were just too young people dancing together and flirting. This made David jealous and this is why he proposed to her straight after. There was no ring.
