Why is the show so dark and hard to see?

They think it looks good, or that it is a good artistic choice for other reasons. Maybe I'm just too unsophisticated in my tastes, but I hate when they go overboard with the dark shots.

Likewise, I hate shows that show battles in complete or near dark where even turning up the brightness doesn't help much if at all. All you see is mostly shadow or hints of where the scene is trying to portray. I call it lazy.

I had this problem watching The Batman at home, found a mode on my smart LG TV called Vivid which makes dark scenes watchable.

I couldn’t see much of anything in Episode 3. It was filmed so dark that I could only see silhouettes even in scenes supposedly taking place indoors with lights on. Very annoying
