As with the whale episode, there's not much a "quest" about it! They're FINALLY doing the Mothman and hopefully will not only focus on Pleasent Prairie WV since it's been sighted all over the world. I hope it gets better from there. So many cryptids out there yet they deal with such BS all the time. Here's to hoping!
I am watching the last few minutes on the mothman episode.
To me it is clearly just a Bard owl like one researcher proposes. To many similarities to ignore it plus the fact that the human mind, perception and eye can play tricks on itself.
Overall a pretty 'meh' episode. It still amazes me how people act so shocked when they spot common wildlife in the dark and get all excited over deer or a raccoon... Surprise, animals live in the forests!
I was going to post this same thing when I got around to it! I watched it last weekend. How on Earth are killer bees considered a "monsterquest?" They are proven to exist in this country!!!
Although I thought it was a very interesting topic. The show actually had some decent points in it. But it seemed like more of an animal/nature type of show. I want Monsterquest to be about creatures that are trying to be proven exist. Not an animal that everyone knows about. This goes along the lines of the wild dog pack episode or the giant snakes.

This episode is more for Animal Planet or even Discovery. I'm not saying there isn't a place for a number of the MQ episodes but if they are gonna look for "Monsters" then focus on subjects that will peak the audiences curiosities. Not creatures that all already known. You got The Flatwoods Monster, The Loveland Frog, Manticores, The Mongolian Death Worm, The Dover Demon among others. In fact here's a list of possible creatures they could feature. At least it would be more of a "quest" than most of their episodes-
What bugs me is that episodes of 'Monsterquest' like "Killer Bees" try to spin animals that are behaving naturally as monsters. The real "monsters" are the people that take these animals out of their natural habitats and place them in an alien one for profit and other reasons.
African bees are just acting the way they act naturally IN AFRICA!!! The bees don't know that they have been magically transplanted to the New World. African bees are naturally more aggressive than their European and American counterparts because there are far more predators to deal with in their native Africa(especially the honey badger).
But of course shows like this farce we call Monsterquest try to paint the animal as the bad guy. 99% of invasive species on the planet have been introduced by humans, directly or indirectly.
Haven't watched this silly show in a while, and it reminded me all too well why I stopped watching it....
