How did she disappear? Was he in the Twin Towers? If so, I don't think it's that strange that her body parts were never recovered.
Update: Okay I read a news article from 2006 that reviews the police investigation and attempts to retrace her steps. Based on that article it appears that the police have different ideas regarding her disappearance as opposed to her husband and family who think she died trying to save people during the 911 attacks.
The problem is that she was missing before the attacks and police find it unusual that she would have not come home on the 10th, so there's a whole window of time before the attacks to speculate what could have happened.
I don't think it's unusual to imagine that she may have committed suicide or even may have been murdered by a rapist or stalker, or even knew the person who may have killed her. The cops seem to gravitate towards this idea and that she could have led a double-life. NYC is a big place and people die everyday there.
The idea that Sneha somehow spent the night (the 10th) at a friends house only to rush over to the Twin Towers after the attacks almost sounds plausible until you hit the brick wall of not knowing who this "friend" is since nobody's come forward to corroborate this theory. Even if that friend died in the Twin Towers collapse as well they'd be listed as missing too.
