Episode with the two 10 year old boys

I saw an episode a few nights ago with a family that particularly irked me. A married couple wanted to pick out a dress for their vow renewal, and the woman brought her husband and two 10 year old boys with her to pick out a dress. Her boys picked out one dress for her to try on, and she picked out another dress. She ended up liking the dress she chose much better, but once the boys and the husband found out she was going to chose the other one, they started whining and complaining about how they liked the other dress better, so in the end she chose the one that they wanted to make them happy.

I usually take all the people and their stories on this show with a grain of salt, but for some reason these people really annoyed me. Those 10 year old kids clearly were just messing with their mother, and in the end couldn't care less if she chose the other dress, they were just being obnoxious and knew that they could pull their mom's strings to get her to do what they wanted. The husband was no better and was clearly the "man of the house", telling his wife what to do and telling her how much it would mean to the boys if she picked theirs and blah blah blah. Not even taking into consideration just how ridiculous it is to get a $10,000 wedding dress for a vow renewal, the whole consultation made these people seem so snobby and obnoxious.

I agree with you. It was sad to me that this poor woman was not going to get the dress that she wanted. I did not see the point in bringing the sons to the appointment. At the end it should have been her choice of dress for the vow renewal.

Sadly, I think a lot of parents are raising their kids this way. It's all about the kids and not anyone else. The kids turn out to be selfish and self-important because their parents have made them that way. She would be a better parent if they kids would have like what she liked. In life, we have to see things from other points of view not necessarily our own. That's one lesson these boys have yet to learn and probably never will.

That episode was pathetic.

The husband was no help at all, too. I wonder if he's ashamed, watching the show?

Probably not...

OP, I completely agree.
