I loved this film (spoilers)

It reminded me of the classic 'Star Wars' films.

Two things I'll single out for praise: the terrific sound design (the popping sounds of the Baron's anti-gravity implants during the sauna scene, the throat chanting during the ceremony for the Emperor's army) and the way the film conveyed the vast scale of things like the ships, buildings and sandworms. Everything looked huge and heavy, not like the weightless CGI blighting most modern blockbusters.

Yes, very good visual and sound effects. I didn't see it as a "Star Wars" though, because it was somewhat hard to follow if one hadn't read the book.

It was best of the Oscar noms I've seen, so far:

Dune 6.5/10
CODA 3/10
Don't Look Up 6/10
Drive My Car 2/10
Nightmare Alley 2.5/10
West Side Story 3.5/10
