Wow! 4.9 rating? So much better than that...

This movie surprised the hell outta me! I checked IMDB after putting it in my Netflix instant list & saw it was only a 4.9 rating, but I decided since I wasn't doing anything anyway, I'd check it out. Pretty scary. Watch it.

Surprised the hell out of me, too. It says it came out in 2009 but I didn't see it til this year so I'm gonna consider it's a 2011 title. Definitely in my top 5 from this year.

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here

Agreed. I saw this on instant que on netflix while flipping through selections. Almost watched it about a week ago and decided on something else. I was at a rental store with my wife and the people checking out in front of us had this movie in there hands to rent. I went home and watched it the next night as it was on my mind then for some reason. Was confused at first, but didn't take long to catch on and really enjoyed this movie.

There are much worse movies, but *spoiler* plotwise while scary at first, it goes on too long, plus doesn't really follow the convention of vengeful spirit is finally defeated and laid to rest, esp since it wasn't even a spirit, and didn't have anything to be vengeful about (it's THEIR fault she has a fit and falls into a coma? that prank was nothing, and it's not like she was left in the woods, she was on the doorstep, and the priest and nun chased the kids away).

Overall very disappointing.

If you think this movie is scary, I assume you don't watch too much horror. It didn't make me blink, personally. Quality-wise, I think 4.9 is pretty spot-on. Maybe 5.2 if we're being incredibly generous.

reply

I thought it was a good enough story to warrant a 7.

I gave it a 7 too. People are too hard on horror films in general. Most horror films have a rating between 5 and 7, and even some half decent ones have a 4.something. I don't get why so many people who hate most horror films even watch them.
If it's original, fairly entertaining and the ending doesn't go to hell, I don't give less than a 5.

Im a big horror fan and honestly quality wise i would make it at least a 6.
The story was very good, acting was pretty decent, the creatures were decently creepy, but of everything the plot was so awesome. I mean the idea of completely erasing someone from existence as i they never even were there in an instant and then having the moment change instantly to fit that. It was pretty smart with how it was adapted to screen.

Um no it is really really bad. 4/10 tops

well i thought the plot is really unique and very believable, loved every minute of it. wonder why people hate it so much

it is to me, the best horror flim there is

4.9 is pretty generous; this is a bad movie. The premise is good, but the execution is poor. A totally forgettable movie (pun intended).

The only good things in the movie are Courtney Biggs and Bella Thorne. It is somewhat interesting, too, that Courtney Biggs and Ariel Winter co-wrote and sang the song at the end of the movie, over the final credits.

i do remember the first 20 minutes being bad. once the action started the kills were good along with decent special effects

I think the film was good enough to warrant a 7. Not the best film, but rather good. Have you seen the rating on the film 'Noroi'? That film is probably the worst film ever! And it got 7.1!!! No, no, no nono... horrible film and gets higher rating than Forget Me Not... hm. OK, FMN has a typical plot of vengeful spirit, typical stupid teens... but all in all, it was good!

I'm surprised by the amount of people agree with you! And that post about horror movies in general getting bad ratings, not true. Bad horror movies get bad ratings. I've noticed that horror ratings on IMDB are pretty fair.

just watched it on netflix no the rating is very appropriate i couldnt decide between a 3 or 4 but gave it a 3 as the movie develops very poorly throughout and in general the horror wasnt that scary or creative at all. One thing i really noticed is that alot of the encounters are in day broadlight and the tension is generally very poorly built up, from fast moving sequences to "jump outs/shocks" at awkward moments where the "shockinng" part has already been seen so much during the scene to that moment that it really doesnt have an effect at the actual decisive/end part.

The guy playing as Eli/main leadroles brother was a pretty terrible actor aswell, alot of situations his dialogue was extremely awkwardly.

The thing that dissapointed me the most about the movie was how unknown the whole thing was for everyone besides the lead female, while its part of the overall scheme it just eliminates any sort of anxiety and tension for most of the scenes.

Overall a very poor movie, seen worse but only worth watching on netflix instant. If youre looking for movies that remind you of I Know what you did.../Scream etc. sort of horror where a bunch of teen stereotypes get picked off you can watch it. I havent seen many of these sort of horror films on there though another one is Fear Island

^ Thank you, this movie was not good in any way shape or form and you explained why pretty well. The acting was spotty and when the characters died off they really were forgettable aside from Jacob the boyfriend of the female lead who was just overall stupid. I'm angry Netflix even had it on stream but they seem to like D grade horror flicks. I gave it a 4. To the people who gave it a 7, REALLY? How do you rate well done, well acted and written movies? To even rate this movie as high as you would "Forest Gump" for example is ludicrous and shameful. That's why bad movies are being made all the time, folks dont have standards worth anything.

This isn't a good horror film, it's okay for a relative low budget, but not memorable and while I liked the idea of the ghost game it was in general way to unoriginal, I was more or less able to predict everything that happened and who was going to die next pretty far ahead. I would forget it. At least if it wasn't for Eli wanting to be a pirate! That was definitely the best part of the film and found me cheering for him all the way to survive so he could become a pirate and get his parrot. He was definitely the best character and actor of the film, earning it some extra stars :)

I give it 8.8, enjoyed it

I really like this movie, I think because all the actors have good chemistry together and the ending was cool too.
